Tuesday is the day!
It's the day I've been dreading for weeks, it's the day that marks something new in my life,
it kindda feel like graduation day, while in fact it is day 0, a.k.a. Orientation day! :)
And it couldn't be held in a more glorious day: it's 39-40 degree C outside, yikes!
BUT it really feels good to be welcomed into such a faculty and institution :)
Students were formed into groups and each group was allocated a host, who showed us around the campus, all-the-while giving the new students insider tips and tricks. And boy, I'm impressed.
I've never been to any other university, but this university really is the place to grow up :)
First, look at those beautiful buildings and gardens! And you can't really keep track of how many activities are held by all the different clubs and society. Still, if you need any help, the staff will be ready to assist. Various mentoring programs are run to help the students with their academic studies. But if you're tired and want to chill out, there is even a special library to do just that ;) There are various barbecues and cheap meals during the week run by students, but there are also food and coffee shops are available on campus. Really, what more do you want?
Students are allowed to be as creative and independent as possible here, to think for their own and to be brave to voice their opinion, and I think Uni is going to be an experience not to be soon forgotten :)
It was a scary first day, to be honest, bcs I literally know nobody. But my host was super friendly, and she even had ice lollies to give on the scorching day! :) And I was so impressed by all the information and beautiful buildings we passed during the tour. I'm still a bit reluctant entering uni life.. There are scary, confusing, nerve-wrecking, and probably sleepless days ahead.. But I'm up for it :D
University of Melbourne, please be kind.
Cheers!
