Phantom of the Opera

This week end we stole a few days and went to Singapore :D
The main reason was to watch this show, Phantom of the Opera.

Now Phantom of the Opera is one legendary show! It's based on a French book by Gaston Leroux, and has been adapted to films and stage shows countless of times.
I heard that the production was coming to Singapore a few months ago, but I thought I have no time to watch, and I was really bumped. But then one day, as I sat down watching the TV, I saw the trailer and learned that it was ( at that time ) still playing in Singapore until 31 August. I was soooo happy and asked if we could go to Singapore and come to the show as productions like this doesn't always come to Singapore -  let alone Indonesia.

So we did. And the performance was INCREDIBLE!

I felt like I was a little bit under-dressed though, coz like every body was wearing tux and gowns, and I was just wearing a nice shirt (semi dress) and no jeans (fortunately :D). But I was forgiven because some others were actually wearing T-Shirts and jeans. No offense.

We arrived at the MasterCard Theater a little early, *hehee too excited, and btw by we I mean me and my fam* and we waited for about 5-10 minutes until the doors were opened. We then "climbed" about 4 stories up (nope we didn't take the elevator don't ask why) and finally got to our seat :)

We were in the far up level, so we couldn't really see the actors faces (expressions etc) well, but we could still see everything else. First thing I said after we got our seat was, "LIVE ORCHESTRA!!!" I didn't know why this made me freak out in joy, because it should be expected, rite? But I was just soooo happy with the fact that the actors weren't singing minus ones, and that the actual music was real. They were warming up at that time.

People started coming in and filling the house up, and it was a full house situation. The lights dimmed off and the amazing show started.

My, my. Those guys really did know how to dance and sing! They were quite (not 'extremely', but you get the idea) precise, and their voices are so beautiful. The three lead actors/actress, were played by 3 amazing actors (and actress). The story it self was a wonderful plot, and seasoned nicely with such good music.

The sets were incredible. The quality of the sound was incredible. And I love that when the Phantom talked, his voices were 'distributed' unevenly throughout the theater, and that made some of us really turned around and wonder, "IS HE THERE??"

Just simply amazing..

I gotta admit though, that during some not-so-intense scenes I nearly slept :p:p:p because I was tired from the flight and all the walking, but I did not sleep :D repeat, I did not sleep :)

And I would love it if in the beginning the mics of the 'bidding' scene could be a little louder, coz i could hardly heard any of the conversations :(

But then the rest was awesome. One unforgettable experience! :D

If the production ever come to where you live, you SHOULD go and watch it. Save a bit of money and give yourself a little pat-in-the-back by getting the middle-front seat :p (I didn't :( but that's okay :D)

ME. HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE :D

Today was a big day for me :)

Finally, after 4 months of waiting,
I am now, officially, graduated from Senior High! :D
SO EXCITED :D

This morning begins really rough for me. I forgot to bring the my sort-of-ID card  that's required to take the certificate of my Senior High. AND I realized it when I'm already half-way through my 1.25 hour ride to Salatiga - no turning back.

I thought I was going to blow up.

I feel like I wanted to just blame everybody for not reminding me, but at the end of the day, I know that it's my fault. It just doesn't feel fair. But as always, God helped me stayed calm, and in the end, I didn't have to show that ID-card! Ha! So relieved!!

When I got the certificate, obviously I will first look at my scores. Even though the scores are not as high as I hoped, they were way higher than what I expected! :D Still very thankful! :D

Now I know that all my hard works had paid off..
With God nothing that we do is in vain! :)

Still in the 'forgetful' theme,
I forgot to bring my guitar, when we (me and a few friends) already agreed to rehearse.
--' Ckck.
But that's fine :) We figured it out!
and it's so fun now to play the ensamble with 2 extra members, it just makes it more alive :)
Can't wait for the final result of our song! :D

After school,
I 'sort of congratulate' myself with a 'White Chocolate Strawberry Smoothie' from Koinonia (in Salatiga) :)
*for doing a fairly good job with the Examination :p*
Hmmmm it tastes okay. :p
you can really taste the White Chocolate *although I would prefer if it was dark chocolate :p*
and the strawberry does cut through the sweetness and give it just a little bit of sourness..
Lovely place as well! :)

Today was huge,
but still, can't wait to see what God will bring tomorrow :)

The LIttle Mermaid

Can you believe this:

I have lived 16 year 11 months of my life,
I have seen the The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea, and The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning
But I have never ever watched the Original, the first Little Mermaid movie!

haha :p

that's why when the stage version came out I was like, whaa?
I never heard of the songs, etc.
Like, I know the story line , blahblahblah,
but i've never actually watched the actual movie itself.

So,
last night I FINALLY watched it for the first time in my live!

and I LOVE IT !

Ariel's voice is soo beautiful, and no wonder Prince Eric falls for her :)
and the kingdom Atlantica is a beautiful place to live :')
There's music every where, pretty fishes and seahorses, and just enough magic to make it Disney ;)

Now,
Little Mermaid is not the only classic Disney movie that I haven't watched.
So Sad, So True :(

That's why, in the next couple of week I'll be trying to catch up with the other Disney Fans to watch movies like Tarzan, Mulan, Lady and the Tramp.

Can't believe I've never watched them before!
Then, and only then! I can call my self, a Disney fan :)

68th Independence Day

In this very happy day, I'm reminded of a few things.

Our God loves us so very much, and He blesses us abundantly.
The blessings doesn't always comes out as material gifts, but it came in all sorts of ways.
Even before we know ourselves, He has poured out His kindness by putting us in places that He knows is best for us,
In this case, He put me in this lovely Indonesia.

Another great gift He gave is my amazing friends.
I may not have the most amount of friends, but I have the best Best Friends one could ever have. Ever.
Truly, my friends are the most amazing thing that I have ever known and they've helped me through the most difficul times.
"... And there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.." :)

Also,
He once gave me one special brother that also helped me get through 'growing-up-in-JuniorHigh' safely.
I'm also very thankful for him.

I'm thankful for my family,
I'm thankful for everything,

But most of all, today,
I'm thankful for this beautiful country, Indonesia.

Nationalism comes and goes,
Many young people this days do not appreciate where we live anymore.
I think it's because we're only exposed to Indonesia's bad side, and it made us feel we 'know' Indonesia, and we don't really like it.
But honestly, there's just so many GREAT things about this country that God has created that we should celebrate about. There's so much to see than can ever be seen, and more to do than can ever be done! *haa Disney alert! :p Ooooh btw Disney should make a movie with Indonesia as the setting. So good!*

So I hope in the coming years, more people realizes how lucky we are as Indonesian,
and care more to make this country better!

Happy Independence Day!
