September 2014 - it's a wrap?!

WOW! It's another month coming to an end, and it's my fav month too ^^

Lots to be celebrated this month :)

- I officially turned 18 last week :D:D
- Another treasure is found! A new FAVORITE TV series! Perception!
- The return of the other TV series after their summer breaks. Lots of beautiful season premiere! :D
- Other birthdays and anniversary :)

I remember last year, towards the end of the month, I was already starting to prepare for Christmas.
This makes me squirm, because I haven't prepared anything for this year's Christmas! O.O yikes!

October and November and December are the 3 months left in the amazing year of 2014, hoping to learn HEAPS during these 3 months ahead, as we all prepare for the new year! :)

In the mean time, enjoy October, and we'll see you again next year, September!
Thank you ^^

Cheers!

September 23, 2014 - Lucky to be Living This Life

This week, I ask myself over and over again. What is a 'birthday'?
Why do we celebrate it so much? Why do we congratulate a person that is 'celebrating' his/her birthday? It's not an achievement, or is it?
Why should you feel happy when it's your birthday, and why should you feel happy when people congratulate you?

Somehow, this year, 'birthdays' lost their meaning to me.
*Questions, questions...*

BUT nevertheless,

Birthdays are a good opportunity to look back at your life and be thankful for everything that has happened, and things that are yet to come :)

This year I'm so blown away by the LOVE shown to me! From friends and especially from my family; you guys are awesome :)

Looking back at what I've achieved at 17, not too bad if I do say so myself :p
Being 17 has NOT been easy, but now I'm officially 18! ^^

I'm hoping for another year of FUN, lots to learn and see and do,
change lives, including my own :)

Where will I be in the next year? Who knows. We shall see next... :D

Little :)

Everyone, meet Little! :)

He is a very cool Ukulele!
Yes, a ukulele with 4 strings, not a guitar-ukulele, which I'm really excited about :D

I first fall in love with this instrument when Zooey Deschanel & Joseph Gordon-Levitt made a cover on "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?"
I love the sound of a ukulele!

Then, I saw a video of Taylor Swift singing "Fearless" with Ukulele! It got me very curious and thinking of getting a ukulele. So I started looking for websites of companies that make custom ukulele (coz if I ever got one, it has to have a really cool design :p), but it hadn't happened.

But I just can't take it any longer when I watched the "How Your Mother Met Me" episode of HIMYM, where the 'Mother' played 'La Vie En Rose' with a ukulele.

So, when me and my sister went for a shopping spree somewhere in Jakarta and we saw this really cool Ukulele with 'Union Jack' design on it, WE FREAKED OUT! I still liked the idea of having a custom made ukulele, but I just couldn't let this one go :') So yes, we did buy it, and I started learning and looking for the chords and how to tune the ukulele immediately.

The first song that I played is 'Happy Birthday' :p:p:p
Odd? Maybe :p
But we were staying at our cousin's place, and he was celebrating his birthday that day. So I figured out the two most basic chords (C and G), and we started singing.

Of course, after that first song, I quickly Googled the chords for La Vie En Rose and What Are You Doing New Year's Eve :D:D:D

Ukulele is relatively easy, especially if you already know how to play a guitar. The chords are different, but you can pick it up quickly!

I decided to name this Ukulele 'Little', since it looks petite compared to my guitar. HAHA.

Cheers!

One at a time :)

It's hard  when we have so much in our mind, but we're stuck in the present..
We have all these plans, but we can do nothing about it..

We look forward to the happier time ahead, but we're stopped behind a roadblock.

The question is not what do we do now, but what can you do?

Anything that you CAN do now, do it..
Give your everything to it,
Make sure you are doing your best!

But don't be too stressed out about the things you can't do now.
Don't let the pressure of wanting to do something cloud your perspective.
Don't let it hide the lessons you can actually learn now, which will be very important for your future..

Let it be a motivation,
A hope that something better and exciting is coming!!

Don't rush things :)
Take things one at a time.

Cheers!

Mini Trip :)

I always love a quick get-away, and I just got back from one! :)
A 29-hour trip to Surabaya :)

Didn't do much, which was nice :)
Just enjoying the view of a different city, beautiful!

But!
A visit to the mall is a must :p thehehee
And I did bought 2 new, very exciting thing! :)

1. Bepe20: PRIDE
This book is the second book written by Bepe (Bambang Pamungkas). It is a compilation of some posts on his website.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of football (I don't even understand a single term of the game) , I am a huge fan of this person!
His writing expresses his huge heart, his love for his country, his passion for the game, his professionalism, and his dedication to his family.

I loovvvee his first book, so when I learned that he wrote another one, I just have to grab it :)
And yesterday was a perfect opportunity to do that.

Read half of it already, feel inspired already!! :D:D

2. Ed Sheeran's "X" (Deluxe edition)
I can't believe I'm listening to a full CD of Ed Sheeran's song and his beautiful voice!!!!! :D
I love his song-writing style and the kind of music he plays.
It's genuine, straight, honest, smart, dare I say 'out of the box'?

Although his songs do have some words I do not want to mention.......
but the others are great! :D:D

Fell in love with it immediately, and can't stop listening to the album! :)

To be very honest, it might be a bit hard to memorize all the lyrics and the tunes just by listening to the songs once or twice, maybe because of the way he sings the songs (not that it's bad!!) But it does take a few times to sing the song 'correctly' :)
(Or maybe it's just me, who knows? :) )

My favorite track in this album *apart from TFIOS' All of the Stars :')* is Tenerife Sea :)
It's a 'simple', lovely song :)

Can't wait to find other treasures in other cities!!
Or perhaps, other countries?

Cheers!

Missing #SM14! :'(

It's been 2 months,
and I miss my #SM14 buddies so much :'(

Earlier this week,
I wore my 2 SM shirts, 2 days in a row, just because I miss it so much :')

To be completely honest, during SM,
I wish it would end quickly :p
I was homesick, and I felt a bit 'useless' there....

But now,
I realized I've learned so much from Summer Mission,
I wish I'm back in Sulawesi with my fellow teammates,
working hard and spreading the Truth of Christ! :')

Chatting with fellow friends thankfully helps!
But it does make me miss them so much more :p

Anyway,
Hope everyone's having a great week! :)

Cheers!
