Let me just say, I'm one fan of this person. He is such an inspiration for so many people in the world. This quote (quoted by Trinity bulletin) struck me. 

It is so true. 

Too many things that happen around us are caused by lack of education.

Nope, those 'smart' people did not do the stup things they did because they were 'high achieving' at school; they lack proper education.

Many people are living in poverty, because they lack knowledge & education.

This reminds me of Sokola Rimba, a book I ABSOLUTELY Love written by Butet Manurung about "Orang Rimba"; where most of them used to see education as 'evil's doing'. Their reasoning is simply a tragic one; yet, holding back from being educated, they continue to be deceived by the corrupt people who are seeking to exploit them.

Education offered to these people has to benefit them, not necessarily to change them. Once they got proper 'education', hopefully they will be able to better preserve their well being and their traditional culture.

Education is not just 'a, b, c" and "1, 2, 3". It's more than that.

It's also about the values, logic, understanding practical things in life from a fundamental perspective, that can be carried and applied in all parts of our lives. 

I admit I'm not a good teacher (at all),

but how I long to someday bring education to the farthest point of Indonesia,

so that in the future, it can be a much better place.
