Geisha

Yesterday I watched the movie Memoirs of a Geisha,
and I fell quite weird about it :P

haha
kidding, i like it :)
just 'like' though, i don't love it so so much..

i mean,
Michelle Yeoh is amazing!!! :D:D
*She's not exactly Japanese, but you get the idea*
And I just love "oldies" movie, i love the sound and feel of old houses and clothes,
and you know that Japanese old houses are fabulously woody and amazing!
Beautiful kimonos were there in the movie as well..
so fabs!

but then,
most of the actors and actresses playing the role are asians, yet they speak in english,
so they have this hard asian accent *Either they are asked to do asian accent or it's just their natural accent*
and i found it quite weird actually,,

I mean, their english are quite good*thanks to the well-written script*
and the accent gives the movie a more convincing 'Japanese' feel,
but at the end of the movie i realize i was quite 'exhausted' listening to their English..

Overall, it's good :)

Now, about the 'GEISHA' itself,
I think it is misunderstood by a lot of people..
People think *and i used to think* that geisha are worthless prostitutes.
but actually they're not!
they are ladies with extreme training on serving tea, dancing, playing Japanese musical instrument,
umm doing calligraphy maybe? and other skills to entertain people..
so yes, even though it might not be the noblest job in the world,
people shouldn't be ashamed of being a geisha..
unless, you are just pretending to be 'geisha'...

okay.
I don't really know what I'm talking about now.

bottom line:  I think geisha-s are not that bad.

cheers!
